As July begins, the majority of the planets are in water signs, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. Water signs rule the emotional realm, your inner world and for you they connect you to the past and your foundations.
This is not a time when you can rush forward at great speed, instead slow down the pace and focus on yourself and the ones you love.
At the beginning of the month, Mercury (communication), Venus (relating) and the Sun (identity) are all in the sign of Cancer ruling joint finances and shared resources. Cancer is a sign which craves stability and security and when planets are in Cancer, it’s a time when you’re looking for protection and want to protect those close to you.
This is about financial and emotional security so whether your focus is family or the people closest to you, you’re considering where you want to put down roots or what home means to you, or you’re being drawn back towards the past, go wherever life leads. In some respects, this month is about tying up loose ends in readiness for a new phase.
Finances are under the cosmic spotlight now and it’s important to work alongside other people to ensure your financial safety and security. You might be involved in big deals, joint ventures and especially on or around the New Moon in Cancer on the 4th, this is a positive period to set up new financial transactions.
It’s a good time in the year to audit the books and look more closely at your financial well-being, especially as this is closely related to your emotional health. If you’re in need of financial support, look at ways you can benefit via your home or family. This might include considering what you can sell, sharing resources, down-sizing, cohabiting, asking for a loan.

The Full Moon on the 19th is another pivotal date for money matters as it cuts across the Cancer/Capricorn axis of the zodiac lighting up your money sectors. You often see your situation clearly during a Full Moon and it’s a powerful time to make a key decision. This Full Moon focuses on two signs which represent security and strong foundations so look at ways you can build for your future.
Your planet Jupiter is currently strong at the top of your chart in the sign of Virgo ruling your career and vocation, your future and where you’re heading. On the 1st, 8th and 10th, Jupiter makes key aspects to the three personal planets in Cancer. This is a positive feel-good vibe and money and work are linked. Do whatever’s right for you to make steady progress.
Know too that you’re moving towards one of the most important times of the year for you with regard to your work and career. On the 30th of this month communication planet Mercury enters Virgo and your career and vocation sector where it joins your ruling planet Jupiter.
August is the grand finale of Jupiter’s transit through this sector of your chart and if you play your cards right, there’s a chance to benefit big-time. Whether this means the job of your dreams or a chance to benefit from what you’ve been working on over the past year, it’s here where you can make the biggest progress in your own life.
Yet before next month, there’s fun to be had and a chance to spread your wings. From the 12th onwards, the personal planets begin to move into your fellow fire sign of Leo, bringing with them much-needed fire sign energy.
Your sign of Sagittarius is one of the fire signs and this is the extrovert element which loves fun, adventure and spontaneity. If you’ve felt water-logged or bogged down in life recently, you’ll be more than ready to do something wild and seek out new horizons. It can be a soggy emotional experience for you when there’s strong emphasis on water signs.

Romance looks lively too as July comes to a close although it’s the unpredictable planet Uranus which is lighting the way. Uranus brings change and Uranus is currently in Aries and your romance sector.
On the 29th, Uranus turns retrograde and you might find that love and romance suddenly change direction. Expect the unexpected, be ready to take advantage of a spontaneous suggestion but know too that other people might behave erratically. This is rarely a stable and steady time for love.
If you’re looking for love, a holiday romance is on the cards and a Venus-Saturn trine aspect on the 20th looks glorious for a loving connection. However, don’t hold on too tight and adopt a freedom-loving attitude when it comes to love and relationships.
If you’re in a relationship or married, encourage each other to be independent and let go of control. If a relationship’s meant to be, then this allows trust to grow. If you’re on the wrong track, you’ll recognise this and Uranus in action might be the ideal time to change your relationship dynamic.
